Blasts in Damascus: A Troubling Ominous Sign for Regional Stability The explosions that rocked Damascus during French President Emmanuel Macron's visit to Syria are a stark reminder of the fragile security situation in the country.

On Tuesday, at least 18 people were wounded in the blasts, including four police officers. The incidents occurred near the Ministry of Tourism and a hotel where Macron was staying.

According to the Syrian Interior Ministry, two explosive devices were improvised: one placed inside a vehicle parked along the roadside and the other concealed in a trash container.
